In this project we had the job to create a device that converted energy into another type of energy. For example, my group turned chemical energy into kinetic by creating a lava lamp. We needed to identify the amount of energy is transfer and for us the heat energy.
Key terms:
"Energy and Matter: Changes of energy and matter in a system can be described in terms of energy & matter flows — into, out of, and within that system. At the macroscopic scale, energy manifests itself in multiple ways, such as in motion, sound, light, and thermal energy. Although energy cannot be destroyed, it can be converted to less useful forms — for example, to thermal energy in the surrounding environment."
Heat energy: "Heat energy is the result of the movement of tiny particles called atoms, molecules or ions in solids, liquids and gases. Heat energy can be transferred from one object to another. The transfer or flow due to the difference in temperature between the two objects is called heat."
Down below is our presentation and my proof of efficacy document.

Conclusion:
Overall, this project was difficult because going into it we were kinda clueless. Even though we did some research it was not enough and very often we found ourselves going with the flow. In the very beginning we forgot to write down measurements and just eyeballed everything which I believe was a bad thing because we need the data. I learned that we need to write down observation and measurements so in the end we can reflect on the things we did wrong. Very often I noticed that my group was off topic and was not caring about the project, I had to keep everyone on track and asked what we should do next in order to keep everyone engaged. I personally could have contributed more, I felt like I was the mediator because two of my group members disagreed on several things. Even though I kept the group calm there were places where I could have contributed. If I could do this project again I would choose a different group and would have tried the boiling water and chemicals again with the baby oil and water.
